Compliance & Risk Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Compliance & Risk Specialist with expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management frameworks, and governance practices. You will strengthen our advisory team by helping clients navigate complex regulatory landscapes—including GDPR, MiFID II, Solvency II, Basel III, and DORA—and enhance their operational resilience and compliance posture.

With our Risk & Compliance practice, we have a fast-growing and challenging portfolio of assignments as external compliance experts within the financial sector. We help them understand how and where the upcoming regulations have an impact within their organization and help with remediations of gaps within existing regulatory guidelines.

What will you do ?

Your affinity & practical expertise with Compliance & Risk enables you to help organizations identify, manage, and mitigate regulatory and operational risks while ensuring adherence to legal and industry standards.

Your key responsibilities:

• Advise on regulatory compliance across frameworks like GDPR, MiFID II, Solvency II, Basel III, and DORA

• Provide practical compliance solutions that support business efficiency

• Develop and implement risk management strategies and controls

• Lead compliance audits and regulatory projects across business units

• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on operations

• Design and enhance compliance policies and governance frameworks aligned with industry standards

• Deliver training to promote risk awareness and regulatory understanding

• Support incident investigations and recommend remediation actions

• Prepare reports and documentation for regulators and senior stakeholders

• Conduct internal reviews, risk assessments, and independent evaluations

Your Skills & Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant field (i.e. law, criminology, …)

• Recognized compliance certificate (i.e., Febelfin, ICA, ACAMS)

• Excellent knowledge of business English, and fluency in Dutch or French

• +3 years in compliance, regulatory risk, or as a compliance officer (i.e., AML, DORA, ESG, PSD2)

• At least 1 year of experience within the financial services sector

• Experience in consulting (preferably on Compliance & Risk topics)

• Strong understanding of legal frameworks and financial regulations, with a commitment to ongoing learning

• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for identifying monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes that may impact the organization.

• Open to working on site (Brussels) 2-4 days per week
