Data Engineer

What will you do?

In this role you can expect a variety of tasks, including:

• Design & Build Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain scalable, efficient, and robust ETL pipelines (batch and real-time), leveraging tools like Spark, Kafka, and modern CI/CD practices.

• Optimize Data Infrastructure and build modern data platforms: Ensure optimal data storage strategies and workflow performance in cloud or on-premise environments.

• Implement & Customize Data Management Solutions: Support the deployment and tailoring of various data management tools, including Collibra, Snowflake, Informatica, and Dataiku.

• Drive Cross-functional Data Initiatives: Partner with IT, business, and compliance teams to ensure data projects align with overarching organizational goals.

• Monitor & Troubleshoot Data Systems: Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures within data pipelines and platforms.

• Establish Data Governance & Security: Develop and enforce policies for data access, privacy, and compliance, ensuring the integrity and security of organizational data assets

Your skills & qualifications:

• A genuine enthusiasm for data and its potential to transform businesses.

• 0 – 4 years’ experience in data engineering, previous experience in Financial Services or consultancy is plus

• You have knowledge of SQL, PySpark, Scala and tools like Databricks. You have a good understanding of Cloud platforms and are familiar with Python.

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to simplify complex challenges

• A team mindset and strong communication skills

• A master’s degree in information technology or a related Field

• Fluent in English and Dutch
